Your Itinerary
SUNDAY: From local joining points we make our way to our overnight stop.
MONDAY: An early start to catch the morning ferry from Holyhead, with a breakfast voucher provided on-board, before we make our way west across Ireland, making a short visit to the county town of Mullingar, and to the Murphy’s Hotel in Tubbercurry for our four night stay.
TUESDAY: This morning we head towards the Atlantic Coast and the pretty resort of Westport, with a Georgian centre and charming stone bridges linking a promenade on the banks of the Carrowbeg River. We continue into the Connemara National Park, a dreamlike landscape of mountains, lakes and whitewashed villages. We pass by Killary Harbour, Ireland’s only fjord, and pause by
Kylemore Abbey before reaching Clifden - the ‘capital’ of Connemara - where pastel coloured waterfront buildings are a scenic backdrop to the bay and looming Twelve Pin Mountains.
WEDNESDAY: Today we tour north to reach the picturesque coastal town of Sligo which inspired some of Yeats’s finest works. Skirting the shores of Donegal Bay we continue to the resort of Bundoran, a popular centre for surfers catching the huge Atlantic rollers.
THURSDAY: A full day tour to the small city of Galway, a wonderful mix of colour, culture and character, of twisting lanes, a uniquely shaped cathedral and impressive Spanish Arch, all captivating the charm of Ireland.
FRIDAY: This morning we leave Tubbercurry and make a stop at the riverside town of Carrick-on-Shannon before we head for Dublin and our afternoon ferry to Holyhead, with dinner voucher included, and on to our overnight hotel.
