Excursions
FULL DAY:Lichfield & National Memorial Arboretum
We visit Lichfield, a cathedral city in Staffordshire, once known as 'a city of philosophers'. Nowadays you'll find over 230 listed buildings and many examples of Georgian architecture that preserve much of its historic character. We then head to The National Memorial Arboretum, a site of national remembrance. Its objective is to honour the fallen, recognise service and sacrifice, and foster pride in the British Armed Forces and civilian community.
FULL DAY: Stratford-upon-Avon
Most famous for its connections with William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is a market town with over 800 years of history. Located in the heart of rural Warwickshire, on the banks of the River Avon, the town offers a real slice of olde England.
HALF DAY: Warwick
The pretty market town of Warwick is known for its heritage and particularly Warwick Castle. Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, this is well worth a visit.
