Nestling almost seven hundred feet up in the heart of the Spey Valley, in the shadow of the mighty Cairngorm Mountains, lovely Grantown-on-Spey is a perfect touring centre for the Highlands. Built almost entirely from granite, this splendid Highland resort retains the elegance of the 18th Century to this day. Out and about we discover stunning countryside, heather-clad glens and a taste of the area's most famous product!

YOUR ITINERARY
SUNDAY: We head to our overnight stop.
MONDAY: Crossing into Scotland we head into the Highlands and to our hotel for four nights.
TUESDAY: A full day tour as we drive along the banks of famous Loch Ness to Fort Augustus, then along the Western edge to view Urquhart Castle before reaching Inverness - the 'capital of the Highlands'.
WEDNESDAY: To the popular winter resort of Aviemore at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains before we return with a ride on the scenic Strathspey Steam Railway.
THURSDAY: Along the beautiful Spey Valley and into 'Whisky Country' to reach Aberlour where it may be possible to sample a wee dram! From here we board the local rail service, through a changing vista of glens, forests and lochs, to the Royal Burgh of Elgin, where we enjoy some free time before returning through Forres.
FRIDAY: Leaving the Highlands behind we return south to our overnight stop.
SATURDAY: Homeward bound.

Joining Your Grand UK Coach Holiday
For 2024 we have introduced improvements to our network of local pick up points across the eastern, central and southern England, aimed at shortening your journey times and getting you away on holiday more easily and conveniently, meaning an altogether more relaxing start. We now have two pick up regions so your travel days will be more convenient, providing more efficient journeys, meeting your tour manager and fellow travellers earlier and in most cases arriving in resort earlier, please refer to our Pick-ups section below for more details.
The Tour Ref below indicates whether the tour departs from Area A or Area B by having either an A or B at the end. For example, GUK5A would be a tour departing from Area A.

Traveling from Departure Area A: Be picked up from your free local departure point, and join your tour coach at our interchange area at Northampton Services on the M11, at junction 15A.
Traveling from Departure Area B: Be picked up from your free local departure point, and join your tour coach at our interchange area at Beaconsfield Services, M40, junction 2.
