Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Rye, Hastings, Bluebell Line Railway, Alfriston, Beachy Head
One of England's finest seaside resorts, Eastbourne has a leisurely atmosphere with its elegant seafront terraces, level promenades and immaculately kept floral gardens. It's a timeless resort which is evocative of a bygone era - as is the beautifully restored Bluebell Line Steam Railway.

Itinerary
Excursions
FULL DAY: We start today's excursion by visiting medieval Rye, with its quaint cobbled streets and historic half-timbered buildings. In the afternoon we travel along the coast to Hastings, overlooked by William the Conqueror's castle. The castle is accessible by cliff lift and the 'Story of 1066' is featured in the grounds.
FULL DAY: Today we head for one of the highlights of the week deep into the heart of the Sussex countryside to board the Bluebell Line Railway. Re-opened in 1960, with immaculately restored stations, vintage steam locomotives and antiquated carriages, this is regarded as one of our best preserved railways. On our way back we admire the views at Beachy Head before taking time to visit the picturesque village of Alfriston.
FREE DAY TO EXPLORE: Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Eastbourne at your own pace, from its bustling town centre, to the beautiful seafront and Carpet Gardens.
