Description
Highlights:Logan Botanical Gardens, Guided tour of Belfast, Newton Stewart, Whithorn, Clatteringshaws Loch, Dumfries
On the westernmost shores of the Rhins of Galloway Peninsula, in the south western corner of Scotland, the small seaside resort of Portpatrick lies peacefully overlooking the Irish Sea. Set around a small bay, leading into rugged cliff-top coastlines in each direction, the resort is a cluster of pastel-coloured houses. Out and about, discover the ancient lands of Galloway and we also include a day excursion across the sea to Belfast for a taste of Ireland too!

SUNDAY: From local joining points we travel north to our overnight stop.

WEDNESDAY: An early start today to catch the 7.30 ferry from Cairnryan to Belfast. THURSDAY: A leisurely day exploring the Galloway Peninsulas. First to Logan Botanical Gardens, Scotland’s most exotic garden, warmed by the gulf stream to allow species from around the world to thrive. From here we skirt the shores of Luce Bay and pass the expansive sands of Ringdoo Point to make our way to Whithorn, Scotland’s cradle of Christianity dating back to the 5th Century. Nowadays it is a haven for artists and crafts people.
FRIDAY: Leaving Portpatrick this morning we head to Newton Stewart, a hidden gem at the gateway to the Galloway Hills before entering Galloway Forest Park.
