Turkey and tinsel holidays in Whitby offer lots of festive fun and fayre with three excursions included to York Christmas Market, theNorth York MoorsandScarborough. The Turkey and Tinsel break stays in the Royal Hotel in Whitby with the most amazing views on all sides – of the beaches, harbour, old town, abbey ruins, and headland. With cobbled streets, independent shops, the famous Captain Cook Memorial Museum, and sandy Blue Flag beach it’s not surprising that Whitby is regularly voted among Britain’s favourite seaside holidays.

Itinerary

Excursions
Full Day: York
A full day excursion to the historic city of York. There is plenty of free time to explore this favourite tourist city, and with so much to see - the majestic Minster, a walk along the old Roman walls, the Shambles, the Jorvik Centre and the National Railway Museum are all worth considering.

Half Day: North York Moors
A full day excursion deep into the rolling moorlands of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. First we descend Sutton Bank to Thirsk where we visit the James Herriot Museum - synonymous with the Yorkshire Moors. In the afternoon we reach the market town of Pickering before completing our day in Goathland, in the heart of the Moors.

Half Day: Scarborough
In a setting unsurpassed for scenic beauty, Scarborough is bounded by the North York Moors and the rolling pastures of the Yorkshire Wolds. The town itself straddles two majestic bays and is dominated by an impressive headland, capped by a Norman castle. There are acres of spacious gardens, cliff top walks, a colourful working harbour, spa complex with frequent shows and concerts, a renowned theatre and lots of traditional seaside activities and entertainment.

Turkey & Tinsel Programme
MONDAY: It’s Christmas Eve – From local departure points relax, get to know your fellow holidaymakers, and enjoy the comfortable coach journey to the venue of your choice. Before dinner you are invited to a welcome reception with your hosts and, after dinner, relax in the bar or lounge and enjoy a drink with your new-found friends.

TUESDAY: It’s Christmas Day – Start this ‘Christmas’ day with a leisurely breakfast then sit back and enjoy a full day excursion before returning for one of the highlights of the week... a full ‘Christmas’ dinner with all the festive trimmings and a visit from Santa! After dinner enjoy a night of festive entertainment.

WEDNESDAY: It’s Boxing Day – After breakfast, board your coach for a full day sightseeing excursion before returning to the hotel. In the evening look forward to a Boxing Day dinner followed by festive entertainment.

THURSDAY: It’s New Year’s Eve – After breakfast, board your coach for a leisurely half day sightseeing excursion before returning to the hotel. In the evening look forward to a special New Year’s Eve dinner followed by entertainment to see in the ‘New Year’!

FRIDAY: Fond Farewells – After breakfast it’s time to make our way home.
This is a sample Turkey and Tinsel itinerary and some programmes will vary and in some instances, meals will be buffet style.
