Turkey and tinsel holidays on the Isle of Wight offer lots of festive fun and fayre with three excursions included to Ryde, the Shanklin,and a full tour of the island. The Turkey and Tinsel break stays in the Royal Pier Hotel in Sandown situated on the seafront facing one of the finest award-winning and perhaps the most popular beach on the island. With its lovely sweeping bay and miles of golden sandy beaches and retaining much of its Victorian atmosphere, Sandown has a pier, seaside cafés, and lovely walks by the sea wall to neighbouring Shanklin and along the cliffs to Culver Down for panoramic views of the Channel.

Excursions
Full Day: Round the Island Tour
Hugging the south coast of the island we begin our day with a visit to the Isle of Wight Pearl, offering a combination of beautifully created jewellery and stunning views of the coastline. We continue to Alum Bay with its famous twenty-one colour sand cliffs and views of the famous Needles, before reaching the port of Yarmouth.

Half Day: Ryde
A half day excursion to Ryde, a delightful 18th century town and holiday resort with spectacular views across the Solent to the mainland, spacious sandy beaches, excellent boutique shopping and a host of independent eateries.

Half Day: Shanklin Old Village
Along the coast road to Shanklin Old Village – a real picture postcard setting which consists mainly of stone-built cottages and houses, many with thatched roofs, well-tended gardens, pubs, restaurants and gift shops.

Turkey & Tinsel Programme
MONDAY: It’s Christmas Eve – From local departure points relax, get to know your fellow holidaymakers, and enjoy the comfortable coach journey to the venue of your choice. Before dinner you are invited to a welcome reception with your hosts and, after dinner, relax in the bar or lounge and enjoy a drink with your new-found friends.

TUESDAY: It’s Christmas Day – Start this ‘Christmas’ day with a leisurely breakfast then sit back and enjoy a full day excursion before returning for one of the highlights of the week... a full ‘Christmas’ dinner with all the festive trimmings and a visit from Santa! After dinner enjoy a night of festive entertainment.

WEDNESDAY: It’s Boxing Day – After breakfast, board your coach for a full day sightseeing excursion before returning to the hotel. In the evening look forward to a Boxing Day dinner followed by festive entertainment.

THURSDAY: It’s New Year’s Eve – After breakfast, board your coach for a leisurely half day sightseeing excursion before returning to the hotel. In the evening look forward to a special New Year’s Eve dinner followed by entertainment to see in the ‘New Year’!

FRIDAY: Fond Farewells – After breakfast it’s time to make our way home.
This is a sample Turkey and Tinsel itinerary and some programmes will vary and in some instances, meals will be buffet style.
