We offer an 8 day “inclusive” package in Diano Marina, set in a wide sweeping bay with sandy beaches.
Itinerary
Day 1 Departure
A morning departure to Dover and our ferry crossing to Calais. We then continue through France to our chosen overnight hotel.
Day 2 Travel to Diano Marina
Relax and watch the rich fields and neat vineyards of Burgundy unfold. We follow the River Rhône, bypassing Avignon before crossing sun-drenched Provence then on to Diano Marina to our hotel.
Days 3-6 At leisure
At leisure in Diano Marina, set on the Riviera of Flowers with three optional excursions to choose from. Diano Marina lies in a position sheltered by hills covered with olive trees, which gently slope down to the sea. The town, mainly modern stands along the fine sandy beach and is situated on the Gulf of Diano between Cape Berta and Cape Cervo. Palm trees, maritime pines, agaves and citrus orchards abound.
Optional Excursion
Full Day Monaco & Monte Carlo An optional guided excursion to The Principality of Monaco. We visit the two most important parts of the Principality, first of all the Rock of Monaco, the capital of this tiny Principality, to see the Grimaldi Palace (entry subject to opening times), the Cathedral of Monaco and leave time to see the Changing of the Guard, shop, and soak up the atmosphere. In the afternoon we make our way to Monte Carlo, to visit the most famous casino in the world. We then visit the most important ‘Parfumerie’ in the South of France, where during a guided visit the secrets of the perfume industry will be revealed.
Optional Excursion
Full Day Italian & French Rivieras An optional guided excursion to the Italian and French Rivieras. We first visit the old stone village of Dolceacqua, a maze of quaint narrow streets and passageways. Enjoy an optional Ligurian lunch, and of course, the local wine. Then onto delightful Menton, the town of lemons, and the favourite winter resort of Queen Victoria.
Optional Excursion
Half Day Alassio An optional half day guided excursion to Alassio. Taking a spectacular drive along the Ligurian coastline, you have the opportunity to visit one of its most delightful resorts, renowned for its beaches, café culture and as a haven for shoppers.
Day 7 Travel to overnight hotel
Sadly, we say goodbye to the “Coast of Flowers” and the blue Mediterranean to return to our overnight hotel in central France.
Last Day Travel home
We depart for Calais and our ferry crossing to Dover, arriving home during the evening.
Venue Information
Hotel Nettuno Diano Marina
Our all-inclusive holiday will stay at the family run Hotel Nettuno, situated in an elevated quiet part of Diano Marina but close to the town centre promenade and beach. The hotel prides itself on its good food, both local and international. Facilities include restaurant and lounge bar. All en-suite bedrooms have a hairdryer, satellite TV, telephone and tea & coffee making facilities. Some rooms are situated in an annexe just a few yards from the main hotel.
