Join us as we head north on our wonderful Skye and Bute Voyager tour. This fantastic tour combines the rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles of the stunning Isle of Skye with beautiful Bute, one of the most accessible Scottish Islands. Travel through scenery and landscapes that will take your breath away. The isle of Skye is rich in history including Clan Warfare and the infamous ‘Bonnie Price Charlie’ and the Jacobite Rebellion, a wonderful haven for wildlife, if you’re lucky you might spot otters, seals, whales and dolphins, or even a white-tailed sea eagle. Bute has a varied landscape from lush, fertile rolling hills at its very heart to the craggy, heather-covered moorland to the north and magnificent sandy beaches along the coastline. With a visit to Mount Stuart House and Gardens on the Isle of Bute and a wonderful glass bottom boat trip at the Kyle of Lochalsh this all makes for a wonderful tour that will leave you with lasting memories.
Itinerary
Sunday
Depart Leyland at 07.00am for our journey north to board our ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay on the isle of Bute with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Check in at the Glenburn Hotel, our home for the next two nights.
Monday
Just 15miles long and less than 5 miles wide is beautiful Bute. Savour a scenic and leisurely tour of the island with photo stops and magnificent views over to the Sound of Bute to Arran, includes a visit to the outstanding and flamboyant Victorian, Gothic style mansion of Mount Stuart, wander wonderful gardens set within a 300-acre estate.
Tuesday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast as we travel to Rhubodach on Bute to board a ferry to the mainland at Colintraive, continue our journey north toward the Kyle of Lochalsh through magnificent Scottish scenery, across the Skye Bridge, the gateway to the majestic Isle of Skye. Check into the Dunollie Hotel, our home for the next two nights.
Wednesday
Today we have a full day excursion around Skye, spend time in the islands capital Portree. Our excursion today includes a Glass Bottom Boat Trip, allowing a unique opportunity to discover the underwater kelp forests in addition to spotting the wonderful wildlife of the area.
Thursday
Check out of out hotel following breakfast as we begin our journey south, travel along the bank of Loch Linnhe, through breath-taking Glencoe's dramatic mountain scenery with a stop for a photo opportunity, before continuing to Pitbauchlie House Hotel in Dunfermline, our overnight hotel for the return leg of our journey. With a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast to continue our journey home, with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
