Join us as we head to the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough the base for our Yorkshire Explorer tour. This wonderful tour gives you a taste of what Yorkshire has to offer. Discover award winning sandy beaches and a breath-taking coastline in Britain’s oldest seaside resort, Scarborough is also home to some of the UK’s finest parks, gardens, famous landmarks and 1st class attractions. Enjoy a visit to York, filled with historical delights and hidden gems waiting to be discovered with a ½ day guided walking tour to enhance your visit followed by free time in this wonderful city. Take a magical journey back in time as we travel through the breath-taking North Yorkshire Moors by steam train from Pickering to Whitby, its tradition to enjoy fish and chips overlooking the picturesque natural harbour, with the ancient Abbey rising above you. Visit the ancient coastal harbour town of Bridlington. During our tour visit some of Yorkshires most charming towns and villages, visiting some of the best examples in the area with the services of a wonderful, knowledgeable guide to enhance our visit to the stunning White Rose County. Enjoy this Grand Yorkshire Explorer with a wonderful itinerary that will leave you wanting more.
Itinerary
Sunday:
Depart Leyland at 10.00am for our journey to Scarborough with a suitable lunch stop en-route.

Monday - Friday:
Free time in the resort with the following excursions:

Half day tour - Morning visit to the historic coastal town of Bridlington, free time to explore and have some lunch before returning to the hotel arriving mid-afternoon.

Full day tour - visit some of the area's most charming towns and villages - morning visit to Malton, Yorkshire's Food Capital with time for you to have some lunch and try out one of the artisan producers, in the afternoon visit Pickering, 'Gateway to the Moors' and said to be one of the oldest towns in the area before making a short stop in Thornton-Le-Dale, Yorkshire's little gem, undoubtedly one of the most picturesque and quaint villages in Yorkshire.

Full day tour - day to explore the vibrant, historic city of York, discover the overhanging timber-framed houses and traditional shopfronts of the Shambles, perhaps visit the magnificent Minster to see the new statue of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, walk the ancient city walls for wonderful views over the city, experience a Viking encounter at the Jorvik Viking centre or explore the past, present and future of the railways at the National Railway Museum, shop until you drop or enjoy a wonderful foodie experience, today the choice is yours, York is just waiting for you to discover it. With a half day guided walking tour included with a wonderful Blue Badge Guide and free time aft wards to explore.

Full day tour - today we head Pickering to board our train to the coast on a magical steam train journey through the breath-taking countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors to wonderful Whitby, enjoy free time in the jewel in the crown of Yorkshire's coast. Discover the ancient and beautiful sea port, consistently voted as one of the UK's top seaside destinations. The magical fishing port is perched on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, discover tales of Captain Cook and Bram Stoker's Dracula, overlooking the town is Whitby Abbey, if you are feeling energetic why not walk up to enjoy the magnificent views. Enjoy fish and chips or a pit stop in one of its traditional pubs, wander cobbled streets filled with ornate buildings and quirky shops (look out for Whitby Jet Jewellery on sale) for a shopping experience with a difference before you join the coach for the return journey back to the hotel.

Saturday:
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
