Find some culture among Bristol’s world-class museums and art galleries. From Brunel to Banksy, the city has some wonderful landmarks with some lesser know hidden gems. Includes a visit to Bristol’s number one attraction Brunel’s SS Great Britain and a visit to the beautiful city of Bath. What are you waiting for, don’t miss out on these great few days away.
Itinerary
Friday
Depart Leyland at 10.00am for our journey to Bristol with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive at the hotel to welcome tea/coffee, relax while your bags are taken to your room.
Saturday
Today you have free time to explore this wonderful city, there is so much to do in Bristol with surprises around every corner, the choice is yours.
Sunday
Following breakfast we join the coach to travel the short distance to Bristol's historic dockyard to step into the world of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the genius behind some of the world's greatest engineering achievements, including Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge. Explore two wonderful museums,' Being Brunel' where you step inside his life, there's even a recreation of his dining room, and the Dockyard Museum where you travel through the four zones of the historic journey of SS Great Britain. Step back in time and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian dockyard surrounded by incredible harbour views before you discover the highlight of the day The SS Great Britain as she takes centre stage encased in a unique glass sea in her dry dock.
Monday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast to bid farewell to Bristol. Your day isn't over, we are too close not to give you a taster of the beautiful, compact city of Bath, a World Heritage Site since 1987. Wander elegant streets lined with houses of golden stone and feel like you've just stepped into a Jane Austin novel. Discover a wonderful collection of museums and galleries, some of the finest independent shops in the country along with great places to eat and drink before re-joining the coach for our journey home.
