Description
Join us as we head north to Ayrshire for our Riverside Burns Break. Join in the wonderful tradition of the Burns Night celebrations with Scottish Themed Menu and a Scottish Piper Address to the Haggis. Spend free time exploring Irvine on the coast of the Firth of Clyde, once home to the bard, perhaps wander in his footsteps on the Robert Burns Trail around the town or visit Ayrshires biggest shopping centre The Rivergate. During our stay journey to the birthplace of Robert Burns, discover the humble cottage where he was born, explore the museum containing handwritten manuscripts, follow in Tam o’Shanters footsteps to atmospheric Alloway Auld Kirk and over the Brig o’Doon. Visit Glasgow’s Riverside Museum, located in a prominent historic location on the Clyde Waterfront where you can view the city’s transport and technology collections housed inside a magnificent architectural structure followed by free time in Glasgow. A great tour to commemorate the life of Scotland’s beloved son and bard the poet Robert Burns.
Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 9.30am for our journey north to Irvine with a suitable lunch stop en-route, arrive to a warm Scottish welcome, enjoy tea/coffee and shortbread while your bags are taken to your room.

Tuesday - Thursday
Free time in the resort with the following excursions:

Half day - Following a leisurely breakfast and a little free time at the hotel to relax, join the coach as we make the short journey into Irvine for you to spend free time with chance to explore and get yourself some lunch, perhaps walk in the footsteps of Robert Burns as you follow the Burns Trail, visit the Burns statue and find the cobbled street; Glasgow Vennel where there is a brass plaque on one of its cottages to mark where the Poet Robert Burns lived for a short period. Irvine has great shopping opportunities, perhaps visit Ayrshire's biggest shopping centre the Rivergate or cross the River Irvine to discover the town centre with eating establishments and hostelries along the way.

Full day visit to Glasgow includes a visit to the wonderful Riverside Museum

Long half day - Following breakfast we travel along the Ayrshire coast to visit The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Cottage, a wonderful time to visit as we celebrate the life of the Scottish Bard.

Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route
