Description
Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history.

Included is a 1 hour walking tour of the city and entrance to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill, where we have included an afternoon tea.
Itinerary
Sunday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way south, heading for the historic university city of Oxford with its honey-gold buildings and riverside setting. We enjoy a 1 hour guided walking tour of the city and learn more about its history and famous landmarks. In the afternoon we spend time exploring the city at leisure. Attractions include beautiful Christ Church College (entrance to colleges is subject to availability), where many distinguished people have studied. More recently the colleges have become famous for their connection to the Harry Potter films. Later in the afternoon, we make our way to the hotel in time to freshen up before dinner.

Monday: After breakfast this morning we make our way to Blenheim Palace, the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough. One of England’s largest houses, it was built in the early 1700s and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. The palace is a family home, a mausoleum and national monument, and is notable as being the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill. Here, we can explore the gilded State Rooms, visit the Churchill Exhibition and wander the Formal Gardens. After exploring the Palace and grounds, we enjoy afternoon tea. Later we leave Blenheim and head back to Leicestershire.
