Join us as we head to the Yorkshire coast for our Whitby and Yorkshire Moors tour, staying at the Royal Whitby Hotel overlooking Whitby Harbour with breathtaking views of the magnificent, dramatic Whitby Abbey ruins. The seaside resort is undoubtedly one of the UK’s best with its picturesque harbour, quaint riverside buildings and quirky cobbled street lined with shops and eateries. Head to the moors to visit the picturesque villages of Goathland that features as ‘Aidensfield’ in the popular TV show Heartbeat, discover Thornton-Le-Dale, Yorkshires little gem, home to thatched cottages, a quintessentially English village green and gurgling brook, and Helmsley, picture perfect with its bustling market square, dramatic castle ruins and inviting inns and tea-rooms. We have included a visit to Yorkshire Lavender, June after all is the best time to visit and walk amongst lavender flowers in an array of colours, a real treat for the senses. Head along the coast to Scarborough for an afternoon in the traditional seaside resort. Monday
Depart Leyland at 09.30hrs for our journey to Whitby with a lunch stop in Ripon en-route
Tuesday - Thursday
A day of leisure in Whitby with the following excursions:
Full day scenic drive of the North Yorkshire Moors with stops in picturesque Goathland, Thornton-Le-Dale and Helmsley with a visit to Yorkshire Lavender included.
Full day - in the morning following a leisurely breakfast we travel to Yorkshires food capital Malton for a visit allowing time for lunch, in the afternoon head to the coast to spend the afternoon by the sea in Scarborough.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, before we head home spend time in the historic city of York, depart at 3pm to continue our journey home.
