Join us as we head to Strathpeffer in Scotland for our It’s A Highland Thing tour. Explore the stunning Victorian spa town of Strathpeffer. Travel through magnificent Scottish countryside to enjoy coastal, loch and mountain views of this wonderful area stepped in History. Visit wonderful attractions to uncover tales of local history, enjoy fascinating insights into tradition, and culture with knowledgeable guides. Journey to Fort George the mightiest artillery fortification in Britain housing Scotland’s largest regimental museum outside of Edinburgh. Take a nostalgic steam strain journey through the majestic scenery of the Cairngorms National Park from Aviemore through Boat of Garten and Broomhill on the heritage Strathspey Railway. Sit back an relax as we take a cruise across the deep, mysterious waters of Loch Ness, filled with legend, enjoy breathtaking sights of Urquhart Castle and don’t forget to look out for Nessie. Don’t miss out on this wonderful scenic and historic tour with great attractions to enhance your visit.
Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 07.30am for our journey to Strathpeffer with a suitable lunch stop enroute.

Tuesday
Half day tour - morning free in Strathpeffer at 12noon meet the coach as we head off on a scenic drive through Sutherland following part of the NC500 route, marvel at beautiful countryside and coastal views along the way to visit the Timespan Museum in Helmsdale for a guided tour to uncover stories of local history.

Wednesday
Full day tour - This morning following breakfast we visit Fort George, created by George II following the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie at Colloden, the ultimate defense against further Jacobite unrest, explore the forts history in The Highlanders Museum, Scotland's largest regimental museum outside of Edinburgh, in the afternoon we head to Aviemore to take a nostalgic steam train journey.

Thursday,
Full day tour - This morning following breakfast we visit the Kilt Makers Visitor Centre, Scotland's only attraction solely dedicated to the national dress, followed by free time in Inverness allowing time for lunch, in the afternoon we travel to Clansman Harbour to Take a scenic Jacobite Inspiration cruise on Loch Ness.

Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our return journey with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
