Join us as we head south to the wonderful Devon coast for our Exploring Exmouth and the Jurassic Coast tour. Ride the South Devon Railway as we travel through glorious Devon countryside on a nostalgic steam train journey from the edge of Dartmoor as it gently meanders alongside the River Dart, one of the West Country’s best tourist attractions. Visit nearby Buckfast Abbey and Gardens, home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks, visit the Abbey Church, wander the themed gardens, located in a beautiful, tranquil location. Discover the Jurassic Coast UNESCO World Heritage site from the water on a two-hour cruise with Devon Cream Tea – a match made in Devon. Travel along the coast to visit Sidmouth, the seaside gem hidden in plain view along the Jurassic Coast, a town like no other, caught in a timeless charm, nestled regally aside its famous red cliffs. Don’t miss out on this great Jurassic Coast tour that will leave you wanting more.
Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey south to Exmouth with a suitable lunch stop en-route

Tuesday - Thursday
Free time in Exmouth with the following excursions:

Half day - 2hr Jurassic coast cruise from Exmouth with commentary and Devon Cream Tea on board, the Devon way of course with heaps of clotted cream on the bottom finished off with a scrumptious helping of strawberry jam, all accompanied with a freshly brewed cup of tea or coffee, followed by the rest of the day in the resort.

Full Day - Travel to Buckfastleigh on the edge of Dartmoor National Park to enjoy a 14-mile round trip steam train journey with a visit the South Devon Railway Museum. In the afternoon visit nearby Buckfast Abbey, visit the Abbey Church, wander the beautiful, themed gardens which are a labour of love, browse the gift shop or get something lovely and freshly prepared in the beautiful Grange Restaurant perhaps enjoy the outdoor terrace, weather permitting.

Half day - Today we travel along the coast to spend the morning in Sidmouth with time for lunch, early afternoon return to Exmouth for free time.
