Join us as we head to historic Durham for our delightful Durham, Alnwick Light Train and Yuletide Beamish tour. Enjoy Christmas shopping in Durhams historic, festive streets with a wonderful backdrop of the magnificent cathedral and castle. Get into the festive spirit on this truly magical tour, with an after dark visit to Alnwick Gardens for the Christmas Light Trail. Journey through the garden as it comes to life with fantastic sound and light displays in this after dark spectacular. The magic continues as we discover Christmas through the years as Beamish Museum is transformed into a magnificent winter wonderland of Christmas Past from the glorious splendour of the Georgian era through the 1900’s pit village where miners wives’ have been busy preparing their modest cottages for the festive season, while on the 1940’s farm discover what wartime Christmas was like with fun-filled festive sing-alongs on the way. Look out for Father Christmas as he travels around the Museum on traditional transport, A great festive tour to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Following breakfast we have a free day in Durham to enjoy the facilities and relax at the hotel or explore historic Durham, perhaps do some Christmas shopping or visit the cathedral and find somewhere lovely for lunch before joining the coach for our evening visit to Alnwick Gardens Light Trail.

Sunday
Following breakfast today's excursion takes us to the open-air museum at Beamish, enjoy a day free to discover this wonderful museum, hop on and off the complimentary vintage transport to get you around the site and explore the different eras or you can walk and enjoy the sights along the way.

Monday
