Description
Enjoy time free in Barnard Castle, a historic market town in the Durham Dales which takes its name from the castle around which it grew. We then make the short journey to nearby Bowes Museum, a fabulous listed building which resembles a French Chateau (entry included.). With its fascinating and romantic history, the museum today houses an internationally renowned collection of British & European art, including the famous 18th century Silver Swan, in addition to formal gardens, woodland walks, gift shop & café. Please note: the Silver Swan is on display, however, due to ongoing conservation works it will not be performing.
