Description
Newcastle serves as a brilliant base for this tour, which packs in northern history and heritage. We visit Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Seahouses and we also step back in time at the famous open-air Beamish Living History Museum!
Itinerary
Friday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way north with a stop en route. We aim to arrive at the hotel late afternoon.

Saturday: Today we take a drive long the scenic heritage coastline and cross the tidal causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, home to Lindisfarne Castle. We have time at leisure to explore and enjoy lunch before we visit Bamburgh Castle. Perched on rocks at the edge of the sea, the castle boasts magnificent views of the Farne Islands. We call at the pretty village of Seahouses en route back to the hotel.

Sunday: Today we visit the Living Museum of the North, the Beamish Museum. This famous open-air museum, set within 300 acres of beautiful County Durham countryside, tells the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s. We experience town life as it would have been in the 1940s during World War II, visit a 1940’s farm, pop into the Colliery and Pit Village in the early 1900s and take unlimited free rides on the Beamish tram.

Monday: This morning there will be free time in Newcastle, before we head back to Hugglescote, arriving back early evening.
