Itinerary
Castle Howard
We include entry to Castle Howard, a baroque masterpiece, more palace than house, conceived by Charles Howard, 3rd Earl of Carlisle, and executed by Sir John Vanbrugh from 1699. The House is centred on a striking dome, with two wings enclosing a courtyard, and contains an enormous collection of art treasures and ornate rooms. You will also have time to explore the extensive idyllic parkland and formal gardens, where peacocks roam.

River Cruise
Enjoy a sightseeing cruise on River Ouse, complete with an interesting commentary about York's history. The rest of your day is free to explore and enjoy the historic city. You may wish to browse the cobbled 'Shambles' for souvenirs, discover the history of York's iconic chocolate brands at the Chocolate Story, or perhaps visit the Minster, York's most popular attraction.

Whitby
Famously the inspiration for Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', Whitby is one of the UK's top tourist destinations. And it is easy to see why - the town offers a quaint shopping experience where you can pick up some Whitby Jet, a working harbour that is beautifully overlooked by the Abbey ruins, and plenty of award-winning eateries offering the best fish and chips in North Yorkshire.
