The Peak District

Join us for a delightful four-night break exploring the beautiful Peak District and its magnificent stately homes. Staying at the Mercure Sheffield Kenwood Hall Hotel and Spa, we enjoy visits to the historic Lyme Park, the fascinating Crich Tramway Village and the charming market town of Bakewell. The highlight of our holiday is Chatsworth House, where we discover its impressive interiors, beautiful gardens and fascinating art collections. A wonderful getaway combining history, heritage and stunning scenery, with comfortable accommodation and relaxing coach travel throughout.Monday: Following a morning departure we travel Northwards through the Midlands and into South Yorkshire, making the usual refreshment stops en-route. We arrive at the Mercure Sheffield Kenwood Hall and Spa Hotel during the afternoon where we spend the next four nights.

Tuesday: This morning we travel to the West of the Peak District to visit Lyme Park. Lyme Park is a large estate within the Peak District National Park and consists of a Mansion House surrounded by formal gardens and a deer park. The Mansion dates from the 17th Century and was the home of the Legh Family.

Wednesday: Today we are visiting the Crich Tramway Village, situated in an old quarry. Crich has the largest and most comprehensive museum of trams and tramways. We also visit the popular town of Bakewell.

Thursday: This morning we travel to Chatsworth House, for many the highlight of the week. Here we see the house, gardens and farmyard. The House has long been known as a centre for creativity and features art and artefacts that span 4,000 years. Explore over 25 rooms in the Stately Home, including the painted hall, State Rooms and Sculpture Gallery.

Friday: This morning we leave our hotel and commence the homeward journey, making the usual refreshment stops. We arrive home during the afternoon.
