Special 4-day departure to Liverpool
Day 1 Journey north with comfort stops en-route to Liverpool for your 3-night stay in the smart Riverside 4* Pullman Hotel with porterage on arrival. \n\nFirst night dinner is included at the hotel. One night is on B&B basis for you to dine where you choose at one of the many of the excellent restaurants and eateries nearby. One night includes a buffet-style dinner at the Cavern Restaurant\n\nDay 2 - 3 At leisure in Liverpool with two included excursions and plenty of free time to explore the city\n\nWith an ongoing programme of urban and social renewal, the fortunes of Liverpool with its impressive cultural heritage, have changed to make it one of the most pleasant, exciting and dynamic cities in Northern England. Scousers are justifiably proud of their city with its musical legacy, transformed centre, famous ferry 'cross the Mersey and regenerated docks. There are many innovative museums and galleries to visit as well as a cathedral (and one to spare!). Liverpool city centre is often referred to in 'quarters' from the Georgian Quarter to bohemian Ropewalks, Chinatown to the Baltic Triangle, the Waterfront to the Cavern Quarter. There is a regular hop on, hop off city explorer sightseeing bus (not included) with bus stops located near the main sights,\n\nINCLUDED EXCURSIONS\nTitanic Tour of Liverpool\nHad you witnessed the sinking of the Titanic, just before she went to her watery grave, you would have seen the 'Titanic' on her stern and just beneath, the proud name of 'Liverpool'. On this Titanic Guided Tour around the city centre, you will see the former HQ of the White Star Line, the memorial to the Titanic Engine Room workers who sacrificed their lives to keep the ship's lights burning, memorials to the orchestra and the Captain as well as other associated sites. Reflect on the heartfelt tributes at the Anglican Cathedral (Britain's largest) before enjoying a taste of Titanic era elegance with a sumptuous afternoon tea based on surviving menus, complete with the same Heidsieck & Co Monopole Champagne as served aboard. This will be served in the opulent, Neo-Baroque Royal Insurance Building, now a smart hotel (location may be subject to change)\n\nThe Cavern Club\nThis evening, celebrate a love of music with a special evening at the iconic Cavern Club, the most famous nightclub in the world and birthplace of British pop music and the legendary venue where The Beatles perfected their craft, performing an impressive 292 shows between 1961 and 1963. Head to Mathew Street, one of the most famous streets in the world, and location of The Cavern Club. The street is lined with music venues, restaurants and local pubs and is home to the iconic Liverpool Wall of Fame, which features 54 Liverpool based musician Number 1 UK chart hits since 1952. Dinner this evening is buffet-style on the lower floor of the Cavern Restaurant, then step across the street into the heart of Liverpool's music legacy. Enjoy live music in the intimate, brick-vaulted cellars adorned with 1960s memorabilia, where tribute acts bring the spirit of the era to life day and night (NB there is a mix of seating and standing at The Cavern Club). Your coach will take you back to the hotel later this evening or make your own way back to the hotel if you want to stay on (approx. 20 mins walk or a short taxi ride)\n\nDay 4 - Your homeward journey begins this morning pausing for a refreshment opportunity, en-route. Onwards to interchange and your home towns mid evening.
