Itinerary
Scarborough, York, Whitby & the North Yorkshire Moors
Scarborough's welcoming seafront provides the perfect base for a five-day holiday exploring Yorkshire's iconic coastline and moorland. From the dramatic cliffs of Whitby to the peaceful landscapes of the North York Moors, this tour blends coastal scenery, historic charm and local character. We visit atmospheric Whitby, famed for its haunting abbey, literary legends and seafaring heritage, before heading into the moors to explore the picturesque village of Goathland, known for its TV and film connections. With sweeping views, cultural highlights and traditional Yorkshire hospitality, this is a scenic and memorable escape.

Scarborough, York, Whitby & the North Yorkshire Moors
We start our day with a visit to the charming coastal town of Whitby, famed for its connection to Bram Stoker's Dracula and for its striking jet jewellery. Wander around the busy harbour before tackling the climb up to the atmospheric ruined abbey perched on the cliffs. Whitby was also once the home of the famous explorer Captain Cook, who lived here as an apprentice and is now immortalised as a local hero with a museum dedicated to his life and accomplishments and an impressive statue that looks out to sea.
Next, we stop at the pretty village of Goathland, hidden away in the stunning North York Moors National Park. The village has attracted visitors since the 19th century, but Goathland's popularity has soared since its appearance as Aidensfield in the hit TV series Heartbeat and its role in the Harry Potter films.
Our final visit is Pickering, a lovely market town known for Pickering Castle. The town itself boasts quaint shops and cosy cafés, making it a delightful end to the day's adventures.

Scarborough, York, Whitby & the North Yorkshire Moors
Today we head to the historic city of York. Make time for the glorious York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe with world-famous stained-glass windows. Other highlights include the narrow, cobbled streets of the 'Shambles' where the buildings date back to medieval times, the Jorvik Centre, which tells the story of York's Viking heritage, and the ancient walls surrounding the city. The famous Betty's tea rooms are also worth a visit.

Scarborough, York, Whitby & the North Yorkshire Moors
Our optional excursion takes us to the seaside! We start our day with a visit to the delightful town of Beverley, known for its historic architecture and vibrant cultural scene. Beverley is home to the stunning Beverley Minster, one of the largest parish churches in England, showcasing magnificent Gothic design. Next stop is the quaint resort of Filey, full of olde-worlde charm and boasting a five-mile stretch of sandy beach as well as some of the most spectacular sea views on the Yorkshire coast.
