Since its completion in 1592 the same family have lived in this charming Elizabethan manor and Prideaux Place is a house of living history and a treasure trove of Cornish life. Enjoy a guided tour of this living stately home where you will find family photographs, labradors and sometimes grandchildren playing hide and see! Take a stroll around the historic gardens and you may also see the herd of resident fallow deer out in the deer park. There is a tea room. (Some steps up to the house entrance and first floor accessed via staircase)\n\nNext stop is the picturesque fishing town of Padstow. Nestling on the beautiful Camel Estuary (the only river outlet of any size on Cornwall's north coast), the town with its colourful working harbour jammed with launches and boats, is surrounded by pastel washed medieval houses. Padstow is North Cornwall's principal fishing port and boasts some of the county's best seafood restaurants.\n\nTruro & Falmouth\nEnjoy a tour out to the city of Truro and the south coast resort of Falmouth. Few seaside towns in Cornwall boast such an arresting location as Falmouth, overlooking the broad Fal River as it empties into the English Channel. Surrounded by green hills and blue sea, Falmouth is an appealing jumble of lanes, old pubs, slate roofs and trendy cafes. Based around its charming and thriving harbour, Falmouth is the gateway to the beautiful Fal River which runs through Cornwall's National Landscape. Elegant Truro is Cornwall's only city - a great little city with an impressive Gothic Cathedral which was only completed in 1910, making it the first cathedral built in England since St Paul's. Inside, the vast nave contains some fine Victorian stained glass.\n\nOPTIONAL EXCURSION ON 5 DAY TOUR (INCLUDED ON 7 DAY TOUR)\nSt Ives\nThe ever-popular seaside resort of St. Ives is a haven for artists, holidaymakers and anyone who appreciates just how breathtaking England's coast can be. Boasting gorgeous sandy beaches, delightful fishermen's cottages, cobbled streets and an array of wonderfully enticing boutique and independent shops, visitors are sure to enjoy exploring this pretty Cornish port. Once a busy pilchard harbour, St Ives later became the centre of Cornwall's arts scene in the 1920s and '30s, when luminary figures such as Barbara Hepworth arrived in search of artistic freedom. St Ives still retains its artistic connections with numerous galleries including the renowned Tate St Ives.Return Day - After breakfast, head back homewards.\n\n
