Itinerary
DAY 1 - After joining your holiday coach, travel north to Newcastle, making suitable stops for lunch and refreshments en route and passing by Anthony Gormley's iconic Angel of the North statue. Check in to your centrally located hotel for dinner and overnight. Dinner, bed & breakfast.
DAY 2 - After a leisurely breakfast, explore Newcastle's Victorian city centre and quaysides along the Tyne, maybe crossing the river into Gateshead. The city's rejuvenation can be seen everywhere - in its excellent new art galleries, contemporary architecture, the Baltic Centre housed in an old flourmill, the iconic Sage Gateshead music venue and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. United by a total of seven bridges across a spectacular riverscape, Newcastle and Gateshead form a single, diverse and extremely vibrant destination.
Late morning transfer to Newcastle docks to board the magnificent Magellan. Once you have embarked, explore the ship and make the most of the daytime activities and fantastic facilities. Delicious full board cuisine is included with afternoon teas, late night snacks and a 5-course dinner. Sit back and enjoy the showtime entertainment as you sail overnight down the east coast of England. Full board.
DAY 3 - A leisurely start with a full English breakfast served on board before you bid farewell to the Magellan and re-join your awaiting coach. Continue your nautical odyssey in Chatham Historic Dockyard, a stunning 80 acre site with over 100 historic buildings housing museum galleries, historic warships and lifeboat collection (entrance included). After time at leisure head homewards.

This grand Victorian building, located directly opposite Newcastle railway station, has been beautifully preserved to become a 4* modern hotel. It is just a 10-minute walk from restaurants, bars and theatres, as well as the vibrant Quayside area and St. James' Park. There is a restaurant and a relaxed lounge bar. The 114 guestrooms all offer flat screen TV and TV and tea / coffee making.

Magellan is the proud new flagship of the CMV fleet and carries approx. 1250 passengers. She has 9 decks and comfortable, open surroundings, friendly service, stylish entertainment and excellent dining. With two dining rooms and a more informal bistro as well as the magnificent tiered Magellan Main Show Lounge, bars, library, night club, casino, two swimming pools and shopping galleria, the Magellan is ideal for those looking for a greater range of onboard facilities. There are 8 lifts. Cabins offer twin bed configuration, en-suite facilities with shower, TV (reception permitting), safe and hairdryer.
