Menton Lemon Festival

Join us as we visit the Italian and French Rivieras on this exciting holiday which includes visits to both a carnival and a festival!

We stay in the beautiful Italian seaside resort of San Bartolomeo al Mare which is a perfect base for exploring the pretty towns of Italy and France that overlook the Mediterranean Sea.
Included is a visit to the Nice Carnival with tickets to the Flower Parade, here you will watch costumed actresses' parade on floats while being showered with flowers. The highlight of the trip is a visit to the elegant town of Menton for the unique Lemon Festival where you can admire the sculptures made from all citrus fruits imaginable.

PLEASE NOTE THE DATE FOR THIS TOUR HAS BEEN AMMENDED FROM THURSDAY 15TH FEBRUARY 2024 TO FRIDAY 16TH FEBRUARY 2024.Friday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way south. We arrive in Dover where we take the 1 hour 30 mins ferry journey over to Calais. We travel south, heading for our overnight hotel located in France (hotel TBC). Dinner tonight will be a 3-course set menu with tea/coffee after.

Saturday: After a hot/cold buffet breakfast, we head further south into Italy, heading for the Bergamo Hotel in San Bartolomeo Al Mare where we will be welcomed with an alcoholic cocktail. Here we stay for the next 5 nights. Dinner is a 4-course menu with choice of each course, made the night prior.

sunday: It’s carnival day! After breakfast we head to beautiful French city of Nice where you will have time to explore the Old Town and take a stroll along the famous Promenade des Anglais. In the afternoon we have seated tickets for the flower parade at the exciting Nice Carnival, here floats decorated with floral compositions form an elegant procession, where characters in extraordinary costumes, music, scents and colours mingle for the pleasure of onlookers.

Monday: This morning, after our cold buffet breakfast, our coach journey takes us over the border to France again to the lovely coastal town of Menton for the Golden Fruit Parade and the Lemon festival. We take our seats in the Grandstand to watch the amazing sight of floats made of all things citrus pass us by! The atmosphere is electric as brass bands, and entertainers’ wheel, spin and dance along the sea front in a spectacle like no other.

Tuesday: Today we enjoy the lovely resort of Diano Marina. Situated on the Italian Riviera in a bay with a mild climate and sheltered by the mountains, this resort has a lovely long promenade alongside a fine sandy beach, ideal for a relaxing stroll to the town and harbour. Mid afternoon we will leave and make a short visit to the pretty hilltop town of Cervo, where we admire spectacular views over the surrounding coastline and Mediterranean Sea.

Wednesday: We enjoy a morning visit to the border town of Ventimiglia. We then visit elegant San Remo for a stroll along the seafront of this olde world resort.

Thursday: After breakfast, we leave Italy and make our way back to our overnight hotel in France where we will enjoy a 3-course meal (hotel TBC).

Friday: After breakfast, we leave the hotel and head for Calais for our ferry back to Dover. We arrive back at the Travel Centre in the evening.Bergamo Hotel
