You can't help but be enchanted by the captivating Bavarian Forest in winter with its snow-capped mountains, peaceful valleys and picture-perfect villages and towns. Discover this beautiful yet relatively undiscovered region of Eastern Bavaria.
Please note: this holiday involves a medium amount of easy walking and you should come prepared with warm outdoor clothing and sturdy, non-slip waterproof shoes / boots.

Here you may have to change to your holiday coach and we are renowned for ensuring that this is smooth and efficient.
The holiday coaches typically depart from Beaconsfield Services at 11.15, Thurrock Services at around 09.30 and South Mimms Services at 10.30. Some customers find it more convenient to join direct at the interchange, please let is know when booking if this is the case.

Your Itinerary
DAY 1 After joining your holiday coach, you will travel to Dover for the short sea crossing to France. Continue onto your overnight stay in Germany. BBDAY 2 Today you will continue on your journey to Neuschönau, on the edge of the Bavarian National Park for your 5-night stay at the Hotel Pension Dreisonnenberg. Your stay begins with a gentle torch-lit walk in the countryside around the hotel and the village with a stop en-route for a warming mulled wine. DBBDAY 3 - DAY 6 You will have four full days to explore this beautiful region with a full programme of excursionsINCLUDED EXCURSIONS (NB a local coach and driver may operate one of these excursions)Bavarian Tree Top Walk & Crystal Adventure
Transfer the short distance to the incredible tree-top walk where, fully accessible (lift available) and escorted by a guide, you will walk amongst the tree tops on an elevated (step free) pathway at between 8m and 25m above the forest floor. Untouched nature, breathtaking views and boundless forest wilderness await. A truly unique and invigorating experience (NB will close in extreme icy conditions). Today is what real winter is all about. Weather permitting, you will visit the Dreisessel husky farm to learn about the habits, training and feeding of these elegant and intelligent working dogs with their beautiful eyes and thick coats. Cross the border today into the Czech Republic for an included day in charming UNESCO world heritage Cesky Krumlov, located on the Vltava River and famed for its magnificent 13th century castle. It is a fine example of a beautifully preserved central European medieval town and features many Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque elements. Your driver may be able to offer you an optional guided walking tour of the city centreDAY 7 Today you depart the Bavaria Forest, heading back across Germany for you final overnight stop. BBDAY 8 Today after an early breakfast, it's Auf Wiedersehen as you travel back through France for the return crossing to England.

HOTEL PENSION DREISONNENBERG
The traditional, family run 3* Hotel Pension Dreisonnenberg enjoys a peaceful location on the outskirts of Neuschönau at 770m above sea level in the heart of the Bavarian Forest National Park. The comfortable, spacious guestrooms are decorated in a country-house style and come equipped with shower and WC, hairdryer, flat screen TV and free WiFi. Many, but not all, rooms have a balcony.
Twin / double rooms are continental twins (two mattresses on one bedframe). The restaurant serves regional Bavarian cuisine in a homely setting and there is a cosy bar plus small fitness room and sauna.
Please note that there is no lift but there are some ground floor rooms.
