Description
Picturesque Constable Country is located on the Suffolk and Essex border and was the birthplace of renowned artist John Constable, with his paintings being based on the Suffolk countryside.
We will travel into the heart of Constable Country, enjoying a guided tour on board our coach, with a little walking involved, seeing such sights as East Bergholt, Flatford Mill and Dedham.
We will also be visiting the charming seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold.
Itinerary
Monday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way to Sudbury with a stop en route. We aim to arrive at the hotel late afternoon.

Tuesday: This morning we have an excursion to RHS Garden Hyde Hall, sitting prominently on a hilltop with sweeping views across the rolling Essex countryside. Since its inception in the mid-1950s, this vast garden was established from a handful of trees atop a windy hill to a jewel in the landscape that embraces superb ornamental horticulture, wild woodlands, majestic meadows and stylish gardens that embrace new ways of thinking about our world and our future.

Wednesday: Today we meet our guide for a tour of Constable Country, visiting the villages of East Bergholt where the famous painter was born, Dedham and then Flatford Mill – where Constable took inspiration for some of his paintings.

Thursday: This morning sees us visit the 1920’s village of Thorpeness, the seaside town of Aldeburgh & the busy harbour town of Southwold.

Friday: We bid a fond farewell to the hotel staff as we head back this morning to Hugglescote, arriving back late afternoon.
