Description
Its bewitching beauty and unique atmosphere makes Chester one of Britain's most popular places for an unforgettable short break. The ancient city is a truly breath-taking experience. Each chapter of Chester's history is etched into the very fabric of the city.
You'll find stores galore offering the hottest fashion in Chester all set against a background of unique treasures of antiquity and a vibrant cafe culture where outdoor dining and people watching go hand in hand.
Itinerary
Sunday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way to Chester, arriving at lunchtime. You can explore Chester as you choose, hop aboard an open top bus, take a guided walking tour of the city or just enjoy the vast range of chic boutiques and charming independent shops alongside high street favourites. Later, we meet at the hotel to check in, before dinner which is included.

Monday: After breakfast, we leave Chester behind and head for Northwich, home of the Anderton Boat Lift, a masterpiece of Victorian engineering and one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the Waterways’. We enjoy a 30 minute voyage in a glass covered boat to experience how the lift works – by raising us 50ft into the air! Afterwards we have a relaxing 45 minute cruise along the river on ‘The Edwin Clark’, named after the engineer who designed and contrasted this clever bit of Victorian machinery. Onsite there is also a coffee shop, exhibition centre and grounds. Mid-afternoon we depart Northwich and head back to Leicestershire.
