Sissinghurst
Enjoy a visit to National Trust's Sissinghurst, where poet and writer Vita Sackville-West began transforming the Castle in the 1930s with her husband. Their architectural planning of the garden rooms, and the colourful, abundant planting in the gardens, reflect the romance and intimacy of her poems and writings.

Penshurst Place
This 14th century home was completed in 1341 as a country retreat for the Lord Mayor of London. The stately home and gardens were once used as a hunting lodge for King Henry VIII, and now feature opulent staterooms that have been showcased in popular TV and film productions. The House is set within 48 acres of Grounds, including the 11-acre formal Grade I listed Gardens that are well worth a visit.
