Highclere Castle
Follow in the footsteps of Dame Maggie Smith, Jim Carter, Hugh Bonneville, and the all-star cast of Downton Abbey on this visit to Highclere Castle, home of the 8th Earl of Carnarvon. You can explore the familiar state rooms in addition to the beautiful Castle Gardens, comprised of the Secret Garden, the Monk's Garden, the Walled Garden and the Wood of Goodwill. Your ticket also includes admission to the fascinating Egyptian Exhibition, which tells the story of Lord & Lady Carnarvon and Howard Carter, an English archaeologist who became world-famous after discovering the tomb of Tutankhamun.
Downton in Detail
Become Lord or Lady Grantham for the day with a guided tour of Bampton Village. You will see many Downton filming locations, including the village pub, the hospital, Crawley House and the local church, 'St Michael's and All Angels.' We also visit Cogges Manor Farm in Witney, used to portray 'Yew Tree Farm' throughout the series, first under the tenancy of Mr. Drewe and later the new farm of Mr. Mason.
