Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Yorkshire Dales, York, Hawes, Pateley Bridge, Skipton
Harrogate evolved as one of the country's premier spa towns following the discovery of medicinal waters, and the grandeur of yesteryear still remains amid the beautifully preserved buildings and the famous parks and gardens. Harrogate is a favourite tourist destination to this day with many iconic things to do and see - including Betty's world-famous Tea Rooms! Touring out you are soon in the depths of the idyllic Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and picturebook villages, while the historic and ever-popular city of York is also just a short journey away.
**Please note it is a condition of travel with Grand UK, for all passengers to hold valid travel insurance for the duration of their tour.**
Itinerary
Excursions
FULL DAY: Into the unspoilt Yorkshire Dales National Park touring through the heart of this most scenic of regions. We visit Pateley Bridge, a lovely little Dales town situated on the River Nidd, and then pass through Grassington village, located in the heart of pretty Wharfedale. Climbing through the undulating Dales we reach Hawes, home to the famous Wensleydale Cheese, where the creamery is worth a visit.
FULL DAY: A full day excursion to the historic city of York, without doubt one of our favourite tourist cities. There is plenty of time for sightseeing and shopping, but there is so much to take in you will have to be selective. The majestic Minster, the old Roman Walls, the Shambles, the Jorvik Centre and the National Railway Museum are all worth considering.
HALF DAY: This morning through Airedale to reach Skipton where the main street is overlooked by the medieval castle. It's market day here today so you can wander the stalls that sell everything from local delicacies to discount clothes.
