Yorkshire has inspired and played host to some of the most popular and successful dramas seen on British screens over the past fifty years. The unspoilt countryside of England's largest county has formed the backdrop to countless classics - from the long-running soap Emmerdale, to the naked success of Calendar Girls and the timeless charm of Brideshead Revisited - and our five day break offers a wonderful glimpse of these, and many more, instantly familiar locations.

FULL DAY: This morning we make our way to Castle Howard, the elegant setting of Brideshead Revisited, within 1,000 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds. In the afternoon we take time to visit the World of James Herriot Museum, in the picturesque market town of Thirsk, which offers an unforgettable experience of the life and times of a man who became an international celebrity after the publication of his books.

FULL DAY: Today we enjoy a day of nostalgia. First to Haworth, where the Bronte Parsonage was the setting for the Doctor's Surgery in The Railway Children, before taking a ride on the Keighley & Worth Railway from the same film and many others. This afternoon we make our way to Halifax and to Shibden Hall. Dating back to 1420, the hall is the main setting in the BBC's 'Gentleman Jack', that follows the story of diarist Anne Lister, who lived in the hall.

FULL DAY: This morning to Esholt, the original location of ITV's long-running Emmerdale. Here you will find the original Woolpack Inn, used before a purpose-built set was created in the grounds of Harewood House. Continuing through Otley - Emmerdale's 'Hotten' - we head into the Dales through Grassington and Kettlewell, the real home of the WI Calendar Girls.

For 2024 we have introduced improvements to our network of local pick up points across the eastern, central and southern England, aimed at shortening your journey times and getting you away on holiday more easily and conveniently, meaning an altogether more relaxing start. We now have two pick up regions so your travel days will be more convenient, providing more efficient journeys, meeting your tour manager and fellow travellers earlier and in most cases arriving in resort earlier, please refer to our Pick-ups section below for more details.
The Tour Ref below indicates whether the tour departs from Area A or Area B by having either an A or B at the end. For example, GUK5A would be a tour departing from Area A.
