Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Dartmoor National Park, Brixham, Newton Abbot, Teignmouth, Dartmouth, House of Marbles, Cream Tea at Buckfast Abbey
The most glamorous of all West Country resorts, Torquay overflows with vitality and places of interest. The town has a unique international flavour and the palm trees, the bustling harbour with its luxury yachts, and the elegant street façades give it an almost Mediterranean feel. By night the theatres stage star-studded shows during the season, and by day there is a wealth of things to see and do including some lovely parks and gardens and miles of glorious seafront walks around the bay.

**Please note it is a condition of travel with Grand UK, for all passengers to hold valid travel insurance for the duration of their tour.**
Itinerary
Excursions
FULL DAY: Into the wild expanse of Dartmoor National Park today, dotted with granite rocks and tors rising up from the barren bogs, heather clad moors and hidden villages. We visit Widecombein-
the-Moor, a typical Dartmoor village, probably best known for Widecombe Fair and its associated folksong. This afternoon we include a visit and a cream tea in the resplendent Buckfast Abbey, where the community of Benedictine monks continue to live self-sufficiently, welcoming visitors and selling homemade products.

FULL DAY: This morning we head to one of Devon's favourite attractions - the House of Marbles - where the site's historic trail reveals its marble, glasswork and Bovey Pottery heritage. Then it's on to Newton Abbot, a delightful Devon town, where it is market day. Wander through the old Butter Market or just enjoy the outdoor market in the town square. This afternoon we reach lovely Teignmouth where Dartmoor granite was once shipped from the ancient quayside. Today you can enjoy its two miles of seafront promenade.

HALF DAY: A half day tour to Brixham, an ancient fishing port which is still busy today, while the modern marina has yachts protected by a half mile long breakwater offering an alternative view of the town.
