Itinerary
Day 1 - From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to the designated interchange where your holiday begins. Head to the South Coast with a suitable stop en-route to your hotel on Eastbourne seafront for 4 nights DBBDay 2 - 4 At leisure in Eastbourne with two included excursions and a day at leisure in EastbourneINCLUDED EXCURSIONS\nNewhaven Fort & Brighton\nBuilt in 19th century, Newhaven Fort is the largest work of defence ever built in Sussex and is the last of a long series of coastal defences built on the cliffs overlooking Seaford Bay, dating back to the Iron Age. Every step through this historic site reveals a chapter of Sussex's past - from its role as a vital Artillery Training Centre in WW1 to seeing enemy action in 1940. The excellent exhibitions unveil a tapestry of stories from the Stone Age to what life was like in a Victorian artillery garrison to the immersive experience of the generals' briefing for the D-Day landings. Much of the Fort is accessible with some inclined pathways. The tunnels and ramparts are not wheelchair accessible.Carry on to Brighton, the city by the sea and surely one of Britain's most colourful, bohemian and vibrant seaside resorts with a hedonistic joie-de-vivre like no other. What a great place to spend some free time whether you want to reminisce about the heady days of the mods and rockers, are keen to try the futuristic Brighton i360 or to explore the maze of tiny alleyways called The Lanes. Or you could just blow the cobwebs away with a stroll on the Palace Pier.Rye, Hastings & The British Tea Museum\nIt's off to picturesque Rye in Sussex's 1066 country. A medieval cobbled citadel huddled against invaders and the sea, Rye is home to a myriad of art, curiosities and cosy pubs. Built on smuggled secrets and timeless tales, Rye has nooks and crannies to explore and distant views across Romney Marsh to ponder. You'll find an array of delicatessens, bookshops and quirky independent emporia on the High Street as well as antiques, art and photography galleries.Next stop is Hastings where the smooth bustle of modern life rubs along with the rough edges of tradition. Look up and you'll see the ruins of the castle watching over the town, as they have in one guise or another for nearly 1,000 years. The three-mile seafront stretches from the fishing fleet at the eastern end through the hustle and bustle of the arcades and funfair rides, to the pier and unique double-decker promenade, Bottle Alley, arriving finally at peaceful Grosvenor Gardens. The Old Town features an array of delightful independent shops and a cliff railway. Hastings also has a miniature steam railway (seasonal variations to opening) which has operated since 1948! There is an included visit to The British Tea Museum to journey through the social history of Teatime in Britain. Enjoy a Cream Tea complete with two tea tastings and some tea etiquette guidance.Day 5 - After breakfast and perhaps a stroll along the flat seafront head before heading home via interchange with a stop en-route.
