Continue into Dartmoor National Park where heather clad moorland, wide open landscapes, rushing rivers and obscure stone tors shape the landscape. Picture postcard Dartmoor villages with thatched cottages and rambling lanes appearing around every corner, this is a land of folklore, myths and legends where ponies wander at will and sheep graze beside the road. Stop in Princetown, the highest village on Dartmoor, set in an expanse of high open moorland for a visit to Dartmoor Prison Museum to learn about 'life inside' one of the world's most famous and notorious jails. 200 years of the prison's turbulent history are portrayed ranging from when Dartmoor was a Prisoner of War Depot for French and American prisoners of war through to today.\n\nReturn Day - Breakfast, check out and head for home with lots of happy memories.
