Christmas Festival
We spend a full day in Durham for its award-winning Durham Christmas Festival. Boasting a wide range of entertainment around the World Heritage site of Durham Cathedral and Castle, this delightful Christmas event features a huge craft and gift marquee on Palace Green, housing countless wooden stalls amidst a background of seasonal music and carol singing in the nearby Cathedral. Please note: Entry fees are not included.
Beamish Museum
Step back in time and experience what Christmas was like at the turn of the 20th century during a full day at Beamish. Savour the aroma of delicious home-baked goods, try your hand at traditional crafts, visit the 1950s Welfare Hall or browse Beamish Bazaar for that perfect gift.
