Itinerary
The Isle of Arran
Join us for an excursion to explore the beauty and delights of the Isle of Arran. We travel to Ardrosson to board the ferry for our sailing to the Isle of Arran. There really is a photo opportunity around every corner on this stunning Island and as we travel to Blackwaterfoot we will pass the Machrie Moor Standing Stones; the collective name of six stone circles on this rich archaeological landscape – and Kings Caves one of several locations in which Robert the Bruce is said to have had his encounter with a spider! We continue our scenic journey travelling through the quaint villages of Kilmory, Kildonan and Whiting Bay to Lamlash. Nestled in a bay facing the beautiful and historic Holy Isle, Lamlash is considered to be the prettiest village on the Isle of Arran. Another photo opportunity is the famous Emigrants Statue, commemorating the huge number of people evicted from their ancestral homes during the Highland Clearances. A visit to the Isle of Arran wouldn't be complete without a visit to Home Farm Visitor Centre, where you will find an array of shops from Arran Aromatics and the Arran Cheese Shop to Friday's Child offering unique Scottish gifts.
