Itinerary
Arrival Day: After joining the coach via one of our departure points or our executive Door2Door service, you will be introduced to your professional driver and whisked away in comfort to idyllic Ilfracombe. We aim to arrive between 3-4pm so that you can relax before your evening meal and settle down for your first night.
Full Day Excursion: After breakfast we depart for a tour along enchanting Exmoor Heritage Coast, home to beautiful hidden coves, secluded beaches, a rich maritime history and the highest cliffs in the country at Combe Martin's Great Hangman point. Our journey takes us across the Somerset border to the charming little town of Watchet, boasting an active marina, ancient harbour, quaint steam railway station and teeming with interesting independent shops to browse around, full of antiques, vintage, craft and gifts. Our journey recommences and see’s us cross back to beautiful north Devon's Exmoor National Park to Lynton, a pretty town which lies on the northern edge of Exmoor and is located at the top of a gorge. Why not take a ride on the Cliff Railway and enjoy stunning views of Exmoor and the North Devon Coastline as you glide down 500ft to Lynmouth nestling at the foot of the cliffs.
Free Day in Resort: Free time to explore and enjoy your holiday resort, Ilfracombe. Not to be missed are visits to Ilfracombe's stunning harbour, marvel at Damien Hirst's impressive statue 'Verity' and a walk through the man made tunnels which take you to the secluded and award winning tunnels beaches, inaccessible by any other means!
Full Day Excursion: Today we head to Great Torrington, an ancient settlement set in the midst of rolling countryside and extraordinarily situated on an inland cliff top, with steep drops down to the River Torridge below. Torrington boasts a large selection of visitor attractions including its Pannier Market which today comes alive with the weekly general market. The Torrington Heritage Museum, situated next to the Pannier Market, showcasing the diverse history of this ancient market town and the beautiful RSH gardens. Our visit includes entry to the Dartington Crystal Factory Experience, where you can learn over 40 years history of Dartington Crystal and watch the award winning craftsmen at work. On our return we visit the ancient working port and thriving market town of Bideford set on the banks of the stunning river Torridge.
Departure Day: Make the most of the wonderful food that is on offer for breakfast this morning. After a fabulous holiday, it's time to bid farewell to your hosts and Ilfracombe for your journey home, taking wonderful memories with you.
