Its impressive proportions and historic significance are best appreciated from inside. The excellent 3* Royal Whitby Hotel enjoys a stunning cliff top location in popular Whitby opposite the famous Whalebone Arch with wonderful views on all sides of beaches, the harbour, the old town, the Gothic abbey ruins, and headland. There is a bar and restaurant, and the hotel is approx. 10 minutes' walk from local shops and the riverside. Comfortable guestrooms feature the usual mod cons including tea / coffee making facilities. There is a lift in the hotel but some internal steps. There are some steps at the front of the hotel but there is also flat access via the bar area\n\n\n
