Saturday is market day (09.00 - 14.30) where you will find colourful stalls offering all types of fine foods, fruit and vegetables, clothing, leather goods and more. Be sure to visit the iconic Cathedral with its magnificent West Front and unique features including the beautiful 'scissor arches' supporting the central tower. Adjoining the Cathedral is Vicars' Close, which is thought to be Europe's oldest continuously inhabited street. Why not visit the uniquely moated medieval Bishop's Palace which has been the home of the Bishops of Bath & Wells for over 800 years (admission applies to the ruins of the Great Hall, the Bishop's private chapel and 14 acres of beautiful and tranquil gardens). Lather on today, take a scenic drive through one of England's most special places and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the limestone Mendip Hills - a stunning landscape of steep slopes and undulating plateaux. Then it's through the truly iconic Cheddar Gorge, one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks with its awe-inspiring cliffs and spectacular pinnacles. Enjoy a stop here, where you will find several gift shops, tea rooms, cheese shop and visitor centre before heading back to the hotel. (Entrance to the caves is not included - steep slopes, steps and wet underfoot)\n\nWest Somerset Railway, Minehead & Dunster\nThe West Somerset Railway is a true country branch line of the old Great Western Railway, full of fascination with a nostalgic ride that will take you back in time through lovely countryside. Board the train in Bishops Lydeard, then sit back with a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits and enjoy the view of the gently rolling Quantock hills as well as over the Bristol Channel as an historic locomotive (may be steam or diesel) takes you on the 20-mile scenic journey to the West Somerset Railway's terminus at Minehead which was originally opened in 1874. Minehead is full of seaside charm and a short walk form the station leads you to The Avenue - Minehead's main shopping street which is just off the seafront. You may also like to visit nearby Blenheim Gardens, Minehead's largest park. After some free time to explore, your coach awaits to take you to Dunster, one of England's most beautiful and fascinating medieval villages - steeped in medieval history and home to over 200 listed buildings. A fairy tale castle perched high on a hill, an iconic Yarn Market, charming shop fronts nestled side-by-side upon cobbled streets and rose-covered thatched cottages.\n\nDay 4 - Return to interchange with a stop for lunch on the way.
