Description
A seaside resort for over 200 years, Weymouth remains a favourite holiday destination. The curving bay, with its lovely sandy beach, is to be the venue for the 2012 Olympic sailing events, and there are three miles of level promenade, a bustling town centre, and a colourful harbour with day trips in the summer to the Channel Islands. Inland is the tranquil landscape of the Dorset countryside, whilst the coastline has strange features such as the lagoon of the Chesil Beach and some spectacular cliff scenery too.
