Day 1 Departure
A morning departure stopping for lunch and refreshments en-route to our resort hotel.
Days 2-6 At leisure
At leisure in Dunoon with two included excursions and one optional excursion. Built around two sheltered bays, Dunoon can boast of a beautiful promenade for seafront strolls and is the peninsula’s principal community. The town’s ancient castle, previously an important defensive structure dominating the coastline, has been reclaimed by the grass and shrubbery of the Castle Gardens, creating an attractive environment to sit and watch life pass by.

Full Day Dunoon Castle House Museum A full day excursion visiting the Castle House Museum (admission included) which, will entertain you with superb exhibits exploring everything from ancient history to the hey-day of the Clyde steamers. Nearby the statue of Highland Mary, the love of Robert Burns, stands gazing longingly across the water to the Ayrshire home of the great bard.
Included Excursion
Full Day Isle of Bute A full day excursion to the Isle of Bute. After the short sea crossing, we enjoy a short break at the island’s principal town, Rothesay, before taking the circular tour, renowned as one of the most spectacular in Scotland. The Royal Burgh of Rothesay, the island’s main town, has a most splendid Victorian frontage and esplanade gardens, cradling romantic Rothesay Bay. On the west coast there is the beautiful Scalpsie Bay, set against the magnificent backdrop of the Isle of Arran, is the home of a large colony of seals, who gaze in curiosity from their rocky perches at those who gather to watch their antics.
Optional Excursion
Full Day Kyles of Bute A full day optional excursion takes us to the Kyles of Bute, a spectacularly scenic area between Loch Striven and Loch Fyne and this excursion takes us firstly, to the picturesque village of Strachur. The tiny community is dominated by the home of the late Sir Fitzroy MacLean, the legendary soldier upon whom it is said 007 - James Bond - is based. The road south to Tighnabruaich is one of the most beautiful in Scotland, as it climbs steeply to a viewpoint above the romantic Kyles of Bute. The village of Tighnabruaich itself is set in an idyllic location on the sea shore.
Last Day Travel home
We depart for home, arriving during the evening.
