Description
Stay with us in Reading in Berkshire on this 'Super Singles' tour in the summer month of August.
We will visit Winchester, with an included visit to the Cathedral, take a relaxing cruise on the River Thames and visit Berkonscot Model Village and Railway.
Itinerary
Friday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way south, making a stop en route, before arriving at the hotel late afternoon.

Saturday: This morning we visit Winchester for free time to explore at leisure, with an included visit to the Cathedral. With its long and noble history, it became the ancient capital of the kingdom of Wessex when King Alfred the Great came to the throne in 871 at the tender age of 21. With awe inspiring architecture and over 1000 years of history, no trip to the city would be complete without visting Winchester Cathedral, one of the finest medieval cathedrals in Europe.

Sunday: Today we head for Windsor where there will be some free time at leisure before we take a return boat trip on the Thames. This 2 hour round trip provides excellent views of Windsor Castle and Eton College. After passing Windsor Racecourse, the boat goes through Boveney Lock and past Sutherland Grange, The Willows and Bray Film Studios. The boat then heads towards Oakley Court, Queen’s Eyot and Monkey Island where the boat turns back to Windsor.

Monday: We bid a fond farewell to the hotel this morning as we make our way back north, stopping to visit Bekonscot Model Village and Railway en route, the world’s oldest and original model village, which opened for the first time in 1929. With 90 years of history, a huge model railway, 1 ½ acres of immaculate gardens and finely detailed model buildings, Bekonscot is a great place to visit. We arrive back in Hugglescote late afternoon.
