Description
The highlight of this fabulous tour is a magnificent journey on the famous Jacobite steam train, considered to be one of the greatest railway journeys in the world. Along the way, we encounter spectacular scenery and travel across the iconic Glennfinnan Viaduct's 21 arches, featured in the Harry Potter films.
Itinerary
Saturday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way north. We will make a stop en route, before arriving at our overnight hotel, the Gretna Hall Hotel, just over the border in Scotland, in the town of Gretna.

Sunday: We leave our overnight hotel this morning and make our way further north, making a stop in Pitlochry for time at leisure. We continue heading north to the lovely Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey, where we spend the next 4 nights.

Monday: This morning we ride the Kyle Line from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness. This incredible scenic journey takes us across Scotland from coast to coast. Countless photo opportunities present themselves as we wind through wooded hillsides and over sparse moors, climbing over the Highlands and past charming loch-side and seaside towns.

Tuesday: Today we journey on the Jacobite Steam Train, taking us on an 84-mile return journey from Fort William to Mallaig and back. We will spend over an hour and a half in the fishing village of Mallaig, before boarding the train for the return journey.

Wednesday: Today we journey on the Strathspey Railway, from Aviemore to Broomhill, the most northerly Steam Heritage Railway in Britain. The train travels alongside the famous River Spey, through Scot’s pine woodlands and past heather covered moorland, with the Cairngorms Mountain range ever present in the background.

Thursday: We bid a fond farewell to the hotel staff this morning, as we make our way south to our overnight hotel, the Gretna Hall Hotel, stopping at Loch Lomond en route.

Friday: We depart our overnight hotel this morning and make our way back to Leicestershire, arriving back early evening.
