Head to the Yorkshire Dales for an unforgettable experience taking you behind the scenes of Emmerdale, home to all the scandals and thrilling drama of this popular TV show. Walk in the footsteps of your favourite characters as you explore the beautiful countryside setting located within the Harewood Estate near Leeds. Leisure time in beautiful Harrogate or an optional excursion to Medieval York will round the weekend off.

Crusader Holidays uses an interchange system, taking place at either Beaconsfield Services (M40), South Mimms Services (M25/A1M) or Thurrock Services (M25).

Here you may have to change to your holiday coach and we are renowned for ensuring that this is smooth and efficient.

The holiday coaches typically depart from Beaconsfield Services at 11.15, Thurrock Services at around 09.30 and South Mimms Services at 10.30. Some customers find it more convenient to join direct at the interchange, please let is know when booking if this is the case.

Day 1 - After joining your holiday coach, head North, stopping for lunch and refreshments en-route before your arrival at your hotel later today, ready for your first evening meal together. DBB

Day 2 - 3 At leisure in Yorkshire with one included excursion and one optional excursion
Enjoy a day at leisure in elegant Harrogate with its 18th century history, when it became the spa town of choice for its wealthy visitors after the discovery of its medicinal waters. It has left a legacy of grandeur which can be seen everywhere amid its opulent buildings, green open spaces and beautiful parks and gardens. The Royal Pump Room Museum houses the strongest sulphur well in Europe!

Emmerdale Village Tour & Otley
Embark on a 90 minute, fully guided, outside walking tour where you'll explore the village and see exterior sets of The Woolpack, Café Mainstreet, David's Shop and many more - with plenty of time to take photos. Saunter past the familiar haunts of Bob's Café, the village church and rows of stone cottages known as home for over 43 years to your favourite Emmerdale characters. Guides will share secrets, stories and reveal fascinating facts behind the making of the multi-award winning, ITV soap. Emmerdale village as it is today, was purpose built in the grounds of Harewood House (no entrance to the house) over 17 years ago after the programme's former location of Esholt became so popular with visitors, filming scenes became impossible. It is only recently that this secluded and somewhat secret location has become accessible to visitors.

NB The Emmerdale Village Tour is an outside walking tour with uneven surfaces and some hilly areas. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. This afternoon head into Otley, the quaint West Yorkshire market town at the bridging point on the River Wharfe, known for its former manufacturing of printing presses and as the birthplace of Thomas Chippendale, the famous 18th century cabinet maker. The town is also a popular Emmerdale TV location and is better known as the fictional market town of Hotten where filming regularly takes place. Wander around the quaint cobbled streets, browse the independent shops, full of antiques, unique gifts, art, jewellery and lots more. Perhaps try an award-winning pork pie, washed down with real ale in one of the many historic pubs.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION
Medieval York
Magnificent York is a beautiful compact riverside city famous for its Roman, Viking and Medieval heritage dating back 2000 years. Within the ancient walls and twisting atmospheric streets you will find an array of sights to discover such as the iconic York Minster (the largest Gothic cathedral in the Northern Europe), Jorvik Viking Centre which tells the story of York's Viking Heritage (entrance not included) plus a host of museums, shops, charming tea rooms and traditional pubs. Don't miss the picturesque warren of medieval lanes known as the 'Shambles'. Your driver may be able to offer an optional guided city tour.

Day 4 - After breakfast, return homewards with a stop en-route for refreshments and to stretch your legs. Head onto interchange before arriving back at your local joining points early to mid-evening.
