Description
Take a tour on the scenic side and explore the natural beauty of Shropshire, and the wonderful unspoilt landscape the county has to offer. We enjoy a trip on one of Britain's best-loved heritage railways, followed by the Blists Hill Museum, an open-air interactive experience which promises to be a fascinating glimpse into Victorian living. We also include an additional trip to Ludlow Market, and a relaxing cruise along the River Severn with light refreshments. Simply delightful!
Itinerary
Severn Valley Railway
From children enthralled by the magical huffs, puffs and toots to adults wanting to take a step back in time to when rail travel had a romantic feel to it, the heritage Severn Valley Railway is sure to delight everyone!
Enjoy unspoilt views and breathtaking panoramas only visible by steam locomotive as you meander through the 16 miles of countryside and pass through many 'olde worlde' stations between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.
A highlight of the trip is when the railway crosses over the River Severn via the Victoria Bridge - a massive 200-foot cast iron railway bridge which suspends high above the water and was featured in the film The Thirty-Nine Steps.
A journey on one of the most scenic heritage railways in the country won't disappoint!

Shrewsbury
Situated on the banks of the River Severn, the medieval market town of Shrewsbury is a delightful place to visit on a coach break to Shropshire and surrounding area with National Holidays.
The town is one of the UK's most visited heritage cities, steeped in culture and history, which retains a timeless appeal thanks to its timber framed black and white buildings which line the maze of cobbled alleyways.
Today Shrewsbury enjoys a vibrant atmosphere with a bustling shopping scene, featuring a blend of designer shops and small independent boutiques, and calendar of festivals and events throughout the year.
