Description
For only one weekend every two years, Belgian begonia cultivators decorate the Market Place with a beautiful flower carpet using nearly one million flowers and measuring a massive 77 by 24 metres. The famous carpet of flowers is laid right in the centre of the Grand Place and, for a small charge paid locally, can be admired best from the balcony of the City Hall, which is open to the public for the occasion. The beauty of Brussels isn’t just in the flowers as there are plenty of sights and attractions to occupy you during your full day there, including historic buildings, grand squares and an abundance of quality restaurants. On the return journey, we also include a visit to Bruges. This ‘Venice of the North’ is famed for it’s pretty canals and medieval architecture.
