Itinerary
DAY 1 Departure: A morning departure, stopping for lunch and refreshments en route to our resort hotel.
DAYS 2-3 At leisure in Weymouth with three included excursions.
Fleet Air Arm Museum: The National Museum of the Royal Navy comprises four Museums, reflecting the fact that the Royal Navy operates on the sea, under the sea, on the land and in the air. With four exhibition halls, over ninety aircraft, over 2 million records and 30 thousand artefacts, the Museum is the world’s second-largest naval aviation Museum. There are many exhibits charting the history of the Fleet Air Arm from the earliest attempts at flight to the present day.
Swanage Railway: Take a nostalgic trip on this award winning standard gauge preserved steam railway operating over the six miles of track between the south coast seaside resort of Swanage and the convenient station at Norden, in the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. The train also stops at the village of Corfe Castle; home of the lovely ruins of Corfe Castle itself and an outstanding model village. With plenty to see and do all along the line, this makes an outstanding day out!
National Motor Museum at Beaulieu: The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is acclaimed to be one of the finest automobile collections in the world displaying around 300 cars and vehicles, the oldest dating from 1890s. You can also visit Palace House, ancestral home of the Montagu family since 1538 and Beaulieu Abbey, founded in 1204.
LAST DAY Travel home: We depart home, stopping en route for lunch, arriving home during the evening.
