Description
To the south of Wolverhampton lies the little village of Himley, in a rural setting, which is our base for this Black Country holiday in which we take you back in time to the Industrial Revolution that so forged our country’s development. Himley Hall and Park, former home of the Lords of Dudley, is open to the public, as are its grounds and well worth a visit. We explore the industrial heritage at Ironbridge Gorge and wander the streets of historic towns. The cradle of the Industrial Revolution at Ironbridge, the delightful Severn valley towns of Shrewsbury, Bewdley and Bridgnorth, the serene beauty of South Shropshire and Clee Hills, celebrated in A.E.Houseman’s “A Shropshire Lad” are all within reach of Himley
